The local press TRIED to ruin my day...

Thu Oct 29, 2009, 1:44 PM
Well, I had all these wonderful plans to not buy another doll until AFTER I got a new camera. Basically, hubby has said if I want it that bad, buy it myself or apply doll money. So, like a good girl - I had put aside $20 from my last check toward a camera. That is going to be a very lonely $20 bill for the next 4 months, because :iconvampireangel13: put up a boy in the DOA marketplace that was near perfect for a character I have. Well, I guess he was spot-on perfect since Rize about beat my head on the desk screaming "BUY ME!"

Every reason I could come up w/to not buy Rize was basically blasted out of the water. And really, my dream for nearly 4 years has been to own a Delf boy from Lutz...and if things stay on target, he will be home by March 2010. My Delf boy is finally coming home - and he is a vampire boy! If you're curious, here is a pic by his current owner [link]

Kaele approves of the transaction. I really thought he'd be upset that his man had yet again been passed up in favor of another character...but Trille is NOT telling us who he is, and Kaele just really wants someone other than the crazy/scary scientist and a basket full of tweens/teens keeping him company.

AND, in other news...The Keller Citizen ran this notice last Wednesday in their on-line community calendar:
Oct. 24 - The one-mile Tarrant County Buddy Walk, benefiting the fight against Down’s syndrome, will be at 10 a.m. at River Legacy Park, 701 N.W. Green Oaks, Arlington. Call 817-496-5100 or visit [link].

Did you notice that line..."the fight against Down's syndrome"

WTF! and they could at least get the diagnosis correct - is is Down syndrome. Geez, do they not train reporters these days?????

Well, a certain newspaper editor has gotten a mail box full of notes on celebrating diversity and disability and some language education. I was mostly civil in my letter.

And - I'm being a good girl, since I didn't scream and yell about and get all overly excited. Heh, after 4 years, I'm learning how to be a sane mommy of a special needs child. AND - once I'm done w/this I'll take out my remaining frustration in a nice constructive manner...by playing Oblivion. Yup, deleted all my save game info the other night and started character number three...scratch that idea, just heard the XBox come on and the FallOut3 music start. Hubby has beat me again.

hehe...he got the same game, 2 years in a row, as his anniversary gift. Can one game really be that good? You bet. FallOut3 Game of the Year Edition is worth every penny. Now to go sit in the comfy green chair and be a back-seat XBox player.

Always busy, never boring in these parts. I hide in a small office at the back of the children's area in a large library by morning. In the afternoons, I pretend to be a seamstress and make doll clothing, cosplay and outfits for my daughter. Sometimes I crochet and recently, I pretend I can make jewelry. In the evenings and on weekends, I'm the mommy of a beautiful little girl who was blessed w/Down syndrome.

Thanks for the add! I don't upload pics very often. I get lazy and the twins are usually naked on my desk.
